Computation of Protective Barrier and Measurement of Leakage Dose from the 13 MeV LINAC Installation


Abstract
The logical development of an optimum structural shielding design and the computation of protective barriers for treatment room to contain the 13MeV linear accelerator are presented. we obtained following results by comparision between the pre-calculating values and actual survey of completed LINAC installation.
(1) The formula (5) (8) (10) are most ideal and economic calculating methods for the protective barrier thickness to determine.
(2) The pre-calculating values of protective barriers are 5-10 times larger than that of actual measurement. It is owing to decrease of radiation workload and to use the data with the most security
(3) The dose rate during exposure are i0GmR/hr~1R/hr at out of door and control room. (4) The foul smelling by ozone gas producted from long exposure are emitted out, when the roon is ill ventilated.
